Our first daughter Bridget was born in August 2006 just before my 33rd birthday. As a professional life coach, when I returned to work I decided that I wanted to focus on supporting other women through the intense highs and challenges of early motherhood, particularly the transition through maternity leave, and The Mother Mentor was born.
I was born in Salisbury, and studied literature at UWE in Bristol. I started my career as a journalist in 1994, including seven years on leading business titles at Haymarket Publishing. I went freelance in 2001, writing for a wide range of national publications, as well as writing and editing corporate marketing copy for PR teams. I qualified as a life coach in 2004 and set up coaching, training and writing company Besparkle* Ltd in 2005. I work in an office in my garden just outside Guildford and I'm married to Andrew. Our second baby is due in August 2008.
